In the 60's, the founder and owner of Gaudreau Environnement, Jacques Gaudreau, is a true visionary. At the time, there was little regulation of domestic waste management and scrap was burned. Jacques Gaudreau opposes it; the contractor prefers landfill instead. It also changes the collection method to promote the recovery of cardboard, boxes of wood, glass bottles and plastic containers. During the 1980s, Gaudreau Environnement diversified its activities and doubled its workforce. The company is adding front-loading containers to its offering, distributing the first gray bins and now flushing septic tanks. With these innovations, Gaudreau Environnement is beginning the era of automation and standardization of collections. From the 90s, the succession is prepared with the arrival of the son of Jacques Gaudreau, Daniel, and André. The company also acquires a first sorting center, a major turning point.
