Little Red Cup Tea Company

The Little Red Cup Tea Co. is a small, family owned company based in Brunswick, Maine. We made our first trip to China more than 20 years ago, and since then weve lived in Beijing for several extended periods and visited scores of times. China is our second home; we love the people, we love the culture, we love the language, we love the food, and we love the tea. Our goals as a company are two-fold: First, we want to offer the kinds of teas that our friends routinely drink in China: simple, traditional, whole leaf varieties. Youll find no Mango-Walnut-Green-Tea-Surprise, no breakfast blends. Though our teas are of fantastic quality, weve priced them for everyday consumption. These are not for special occasions, to be brought out with the fine China. Instead, they are teas that you can drink throughout the day; teas to keep you going. In China, tea never stops after the first cup, and we see no reason that should not be true in the Occident as well. Second, we want to act as sustainably as possible, maximizing the positive aspects of international trade while minimizing the negative. This is the reason that every tea we sell is certified organic with the USDA, and certified fair trade by Fair Trade USA. It is also the reason our teas are sold in recyclable Kraft paper sacks. As the company grows, well be able to achieve greater sustainability through economies of scale, and in doing so well also be able to bring our producing partners along.
